The Fastnet Race is regarded as the most famous and challenging of the Royal Ocean Racing Club's races. It attracts in the region of 250 yachts and often stretches yachts and crews to their limits. The Fastnet Race is one of the few ocean races open to amateur crews that every sea going person just has to compete in at least once.

The 608-mile course taking the fleet westwards out of the Solent and along the south coats to Lands End. From there the fleet heads into the open ocean and to the southern coast of Ireland where all yachts have to pass around the Fastnet Rock. After rounding the rock it is a sprint back down the Irish Sea leaving Bishop Rock lighthouse on the South side of the Scilly Isles to port and then the final dash to the finish line in Plymouth where crews get the chance to catch up on much needed drinking time!!

The Fastnet Race is not for the faint hearted with varying weather conditions and tricky tidal currents. It has on many occasions proved to be the toughest race in the RORC racing calendar.

Britannia Corporate Events is offering two packages for the Fastnet Race. You can either choose to take a whole yacht and arrange a crew yourself or book a position aboard one of our Sydney 40's.

To qualify for The Fastnet Race, the yacht and its crew must complete at least 300 miles of RORC racing. All our packages include the two qualifying passages required before entry to the Fastnet Race and one extra training weekend.
