The FTBA is the Official Charity of the FTBA Sailing Challenge.
  7-8 June 2008

The 2008 FTBA Sailing Challenge (Previously known as FISC) will be the fifth staging of the regatta and promises to be the most successful to date, with many teams already having reserved their entry.

The regatta is open to entries from any company involved in the furniture industry including: retailers, manufacturers, importers, finance companies, logistics and other suppliers to the sector.

The FTBA Sailing Challenge 2008 is sponsored by Furniture News Magazine and Furniture Production Magazine and all those teams competing will receive editorial coverage in the high quality, comprehensive pre-and-post-event coverage in the magazines. The FTBA Sailing Challenge 2008 would like to thank Furniture News and Furniture Production for their continued support of the regatta.

The FTBA Sailing Challenge will once again be supporting the Furnishing Trades Benevolent Association as its official charity in 2008. A donation will be made to the FTBA for every person that participates in the regatta.

Itinerary

Friday 6 June

16.00 Regatta desk opens in the Britannia offices, Port Hamble Marina, for early registrations.

17.00-19.00 Guests arrive in Hamble for yacht handover and introductions to regatta team and skippers.

19.30 Informal social gathering in local Hamble venue.

Saturday 7 June

08.00 Regatta desk opens for all remaining teams.

09.00 Skippers' briefing.

10.00 Sail training for crews.

12 noon Lunch onboard yachts.

12.30 FTBA SC 2008 Race One begins, under instruction from the race committee.

14.00 FTBA SC 2008 Race Two begins, under instruction from the race committee.

15.30 FTBA SC 2008 Race Three begins, under instruction from the race committee.

16.30 Yachts proceed to Cowes Yacht Haven.

17.00-19.00 Free time. Full shower facilities are available in the Cowes Yacht Haven.

19.00 Yacht club opens for pre-dinner drinks.

20.00 FTBA SC Regatta Dinner is served.

Midnight FTBA SC Regatta Dinner ends.

Sunday 8 June


09.00 Skippers' briefing and then yachts depart to prepare for final race.

10.00 FTBA SC 2008 Race Four (Final Race) begins, under instruction from the race committee.

12.30 Yachts return to Port Hamble Marina

13.00 Prize Giving in Hamble


Prices

The cost to enter the FTBA Sailing Challenge 2008 is £3,699 + VAT

This price includes:
- Charter of a Beneteau 40.7 yacht of up to 10 guests
- Accommodation onboard for up to 6 guests, if required
- Professional skipper and 1st mate
- Full training and race itinerary
- Racing lunch on 7th June
- Regatta dinner on 7th June
- All moorings and fuel
- Prize giving on 8th June

There is an additional £10 per person donation to the FTBA.
