In June 2010, teams from the Infrastructure Investment industry will come together for the 6th Infrastructure Investments Trophy (formerly known as the PPP/PFI Challenge). Twenty teams took part in the 2009 regatta and entries into the 2010 regatta will be by invitation only and will attract the cream of the industry.

The event is aimed at the principals in the Infrastructure Investment industry (public sector, private sector and funders) though a limited number of other companies involved in the Infrastructure industry (construction companies, property advisers, lawyers, technical advisers or financial advisers) will be allowed to enter. All participants (entrants and guests) must be genuinely involved in the infrastructure business.

All those participating in the Infrastructure Investments Trophy will find it a valuable way to raise their profile, network within the industry, entertain clients and reward employees.

The Challenge will combine a networking and social programme with a comprehensive, yet accessible, race series staged in Hamble, Cowes and the Solent, the home of world yachting!

The Infrastructure Investments Trophy has been established by Gleeds and Britannia Corporate Events as a focal point for the industry.

IJ Online, as the foremost provider of breaking news and dedicated data for the global infrastructure investment market. IJ Online is the event’s media sponsor and will be ensuring a high media profile for both the event and its competitors.

SKANSKA ID COMPETING IN THE 40.7 DIVISION IN 2008

YACHTS, RACE STRUCTURE, PRIZES & COSTS

Yachts - Beneteau 40.7
The Beneteau 40.7 forms Class 1 of the regatta and attracted over 15 teams in 2009, making the Infrastructure Investments Trophy one of the largest gatherings of 40.7s in the seaon and a fiercely competitive class to race in.

The 40.7 is one of the most popular cruiser racers on the market and provides exhilarating sailing without the need for a team of professional sailors.

With its resolutely modern design, the First 40.7 is a true pleasure boat. The beautiful hull lines, clean deck layout, and comfortable interior all add up to a fast, functional yacht.

Yachts – Oceanis 37
From 2009 onwards the brand new Oceanis 37s will be replacing the previously used Bavaria 37's. Oceanis yachts are the ideal yachts for groups that wish to cruise in comfort, or who have limited sailing experience and wish to learn the ropes on a yacht that is forgiving and not too technical. These yachts also provide the perfect corporate hospitality platform, when the emphasis is on the social aspects of sailing. However, Oceanis 37s can also be raced against each other and can provide an exciting regatta for small or large groups.

Oceanis 37s have comfortable cabins, along with hot water, cooker, fridge, CD & radio.

All crews will have a professional skipper included in their package. Your skipper will expertly guide you throughout the entire regatta, ensuring an enjoyable experience.

Race Structure
All crews will have the opportunity to practice on the morning of Friday 11th June. The racing then comprises 6 races in the Solent, all overseen by a professional Race Officer and support vessel.

The first two races will take place on Friday afternoon and the remaining four will take place on Saturday 12th June. If 4 or more races take place during the course of the regatta, teams will be able to discard their worst result and the remaining results will be used to calculate the final results.

Prizes
The prize giving will take place at the regatta dinner on Saturday 12th June at the prestigious Royal Corinthian Yacht Club on the Isle of Wight.

Prizes will be presented to the winning team and to those teams in second and third place. Crew members from the winning team will also receive individual trophies.

The Corinthian Cup will be awarded to the highest placed team skippered by a member of the Infrastructure Investment industry.

Entry Costs
The cost to enter the Infrastructure Investments Trophy is £3,795 + VAT for a team on an Oceanis 37 yacht and £4,895 + VAT for a team on a Beneteau 40.7 yacht. .
