WWW.OLDPULTENEY.COM | Profile Sailing Cup 2008 For the second year running, Britannia Corporate Events and Profile Sailing are delighted to have teamed up to stage the PROFILE SAILING CUP on the 16th and 17th September 2008. The event is being organized for companies working in the Hospitality and Travel Industry and for Tourist Authorities. There will also be a limited number of professional firms involved in the industry, such as Banks, Construction Companies, Property Advisers and Lawyers. We are delighted to confirm that 3 of this year’s entries, The Dorchester, Berkeley and Mandarin Oriental London have already confirmed their places for 2008 and we are particularly pleased to be able announce that our dinner in Cowes on Tuesday 16th will take place at a leading Cowes yacht club. We are confident that all those participating in the Profile Sailing Cup will find it a valuable way to raise their awareness and network within the industry, entertain clients and reward employees and we are particularly pleased to have the Dorchester Hotel as our lifestyle partner. A networking and social programme will be combined with a comprehensive, yet accessible, race series staged in Hamble, Cowes and on the Solent. Up to 20 Beneteau First 40.7s are available; the 40.7 is one of the most popular cruiser racers on the market and provides exhilarating sailing without the need for a team of professional sailors, although each yacht will have an experienced skipper and crew provided, safety being of prime importance. With its resolutely modern design, the First 40.7 is a true pleasure to sail on; the beautiful hull lines, clean deck layout, and comfortable interior all add up to a fast and functional yacht Race Structure and Costs Tuesday 16th September 09.00 Crew registration, Port Hamble Marina 10.00 Skippers’ briefing from Race Officer 10.30 Crews depart for practice time 12.00 Lunch onboard 12.45 Race One starts, under instruction from Race Committee 14.15 Race Two starts 15.45 Race Three starts 17.00 Yachts moor in Cowes Yacht Haven 19.00 Champagne & Pimms Reception and BBQ at the Royal Yacht Squadron 20.00 Regatta dinner is served at the Royal Yacht Squadron 21.30 Prize giving Wednesday 17th September Breakfast to be taken at leisure. 10.30 An itinerary of friendly racing or free sailing. 15.30 All yachts to be returned to Port Hamble Marina by this deadline. Profile Cup 2007 The inaugural Profile Sailing Cup held on the 10th and 11th July, with over 80 hotel professionals finding their sea legs caused quite a stir! Congratulations to The Dorchester, The Berkeley, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and Profile Recruitment for their podium places over the two days of racing and to all the other competitors including the Eton Collection, Jumeirah and Small Luxury Hotels of the World who thoroughly enjoyed some exhilarating racing and good partying! Cocktails and dinner at the Royal Corinthian Club in Cowes with a talk by Phil Sharp, one of the UK’s rising sailing star was followed by a charity auction which raised over £3000 for Sail4Cancer.
