Britannia Corporate Events is delighted to announce its appointment as the event organiser of The Equinix Silicon Cup 2010.

The 11th IT Regatta, now known as The Equinix Silicon Cup, will take place in September 2010 and is targeted to attract 50+ yachts, 500+ attendees and should raise over £50K for charity.

Entrants at the regatta have been many and varied with the majority returning each year. Competing teams include; manufacturers, Channel Partners, IT departments and other related suppliers. The majority of the key industry players are represented albeit in a variety of guises. Logos from Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Symantec, Intel, System Professional, Pillar Data Systems, IBM and Attenda are all to be seen adorning the yachts.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

Thursday 9th September

0800 Yachts available for collection from Britannia Corporate Events, Hamble

1130 Skippers briefing in Cowes

1200 Registration desk in Cowes closes

1300 Racing begins

1700 Boats return to Cowes Yacht Haven after days racing

Leisure time to get ready for evening party

1900 Themed Gala Dinner doors open for drinks (theme to be announced)

2000 Dinner is served

2130 Days prize giving followed by post dinner entertainment and dancing

0100 Party finishes

Friday 10th September

0700 Breakfast is seved in Cowes Yacht Haven

1000 Race One starts, under instruction from the Race Committee

Subsequent races follow.

1600 boats return to Cowes Yacht Haven

1715 The Equinix Silicon Cup Prize Giving

Bar is open, and guests depart at leisure.

PUTTING SOMETHING BACK
The fundraising element of the event is significant yet not the central focus as we also wish to encourage Industry Networking, Corporate Hospitality and Teambuilding. Historically every penny raised by the various activities; entry fees, gala dinner, Irish raffle etc. is donated towards a small selection of charities. Last year's achievement of £50k was allocated between the Jubilee Sailing Trust, the NSPCC and the Dreams Come True Charity.
