LANCELOT BREAKS 40.7 RECORD AND TAKES 3RD IN ARC 2009

Britannia Corporate Events and Lancelot's sponsor Gleeds are delighted to announce that the crew of Lancelot have successfully completed the 2009 ARC in the record breaking time of 15 days, 9 hours and 51 minutes and taken a superb 3rd place in racing class. This beats the previous fastest ARC crossing for a Beneteau 40.7 of 15 days, 10 hours and 23 minutes set by Lancelot in 2006.

Chris Jackson, Britannia's lead skipper, led the crew of 8 in their epic voyage. Talking about the trophy winning and record breaking success of his crew, Chris commented:
"My crew were amazing and worked together as a great team. They joined Lancelot with very little sailing experience and were racing against crews of seasoned professionals. To take 3rd place in such a hard, competitive race is amazing and to take the record for the fastest ARC crossing by a 40.7 is the icing on the cake."

Lancelot will be taking part in all the main races in the Caribbean 2010 season before returning to the UK, where Britannia will be preparing for the ARC 2010!
