  | BRITANNIA APPOINTED AS SPONSORSHIP AGENTS FOR CHINA CUP INTERNATIONAL REGATTA 27.07.09 Britannia Corporate Events is delighted to announce its appointment by The China Cup International Regatta and Prescient Marketing Ltd. as the official and exclusive UK sponsorship agent for the China Cup International Regatta. The China Cup International Regatta was first held in October 2007 and the regatta is officially sanctioned by the China Water Sports Association under the China Sport Bureau. Now in its 3rd year and as the world's newest and most ambitious yachting festival and modeled on the America's Cup, the 2008 regatta attracted 1000 sailors representing more than 100 teams from around the world. They enjoyed competition across six events including a passage race from Hong Kong to the host city Shenzhen and inshore racing on territorial waters in Daya Bay, together with a range of cultural events including an art exhibition, golf tournament, fashion show, economic forum and wine tasting party. The China Cup International Regatta has a long-term vision of establishing itself as the premier sailing event in China and Asia Pacific, aligning with China’s emerging power in the world stage. The China Cup has already been named as ‘Best Regatta of the Year (2008)’ at the Boating Asia Awards Night.
