 | CORUM SPONSORS THE MANCHES CUP 30.03.05 Corum, the luxury Swiss watchmaker will be the official Timekeeping Sponsor of The Manches Cup sailing regatta to take place in Cowes, Isle of Wight on May 21st & 22nd 2005. The Manches Cup has established itself as one of the largest regattas in the country and is the main social, sporting and networking opportunity for ‘the legal industry’. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the regatta which promises to be the largest and most spectacular to date. The Manches Cup is open to competitors of all experience, from the complete novice to the expert yachtsman. Entry is open to crews from law firms, in-house counsel, barristers' chambers and suppliers to the legal community. The event begins on Friday May 20th with an informal meeting in Hamble where participants meet and greet. On Sat May 21st two races are scheduled followed by an evening event at the Boat Shed in Cowes Yacht Haven. On Sunday May 22nd the third race will take place followed by the Manches Cup prize giving ceremony. Corum will be the exclusive watch sponsor, offering its superb watches as prizes. The overall winner will receive an exclusive Corum Admiral’s Cup Marees Automatic watch, a fine and covetable piece with a movement that has the ability to track the tides. The Marees watch comes with a navy blue dial in tribute to the sea and heavy steel bracelet. Other prizes include an Admiral’s Cup Trophy 41 Automatic watch. This watch has a rugged and youthful look, sporting a 41mm streamlined stainless steel case with a protective latch to secure the cover of the crown. The ‘Corum Trophy’ will be presented to the first prizewinner, from one of the four racing classes. Corum UK MD, Steve Ramsay, says ‘’ We are delighted to extend our association with sailing via The Manches Cup event and look forward to a great week-end of competitive racing’’. All Manches Cup competitors will also be given the opportunity to buy a Corum watch at a special discount rate over the weekend from Benzies, the exclusive stockist for Corum in Cowes. The Manches Cup is considered by many as a popular and prestigious event that attracts many people within the legal profession.
