![]() ![]() ![]() | INCE & CO TAKE LUTINE LINESLIP HONOURS 12.06.06 After two days of racing in beautiful conditions, Ince & Co, sailing on the Beneteau 40.7 'Anticipation', took the Division 1 title and the Lloyds Silver Galleon as the overall regatta champions. The regatta also successfully raised valuable funds for the Jubilee Sailing Trust. On Wednesday 7th June over a dozen teams from the insurance markets converged to race in the 6th Lutine Lineslip Regatta, the annual regatta of the Lloyds Yacht Club. The first day saw glorious sunshine and steady breezes combine for excellent sailing conditions. HSBC Insurance Brokers dominated the Open Division on Blue Bat. However, the Beneteau 40.7 division ended the day with Ince & Co and the defending champions neck and neck. After the regatta dinner at the Royal Yacht Squadron, teams awoke on the morning of the second day to find plenty of sun and breeze, which led to a second day of enjoyable and competitive sailing. Ince & Co performed well together as a team throughout the day, recording victories in all of the day's races. Allied World Assurance improved on an indifferent first day to take the Open Division title for yachts with an IRC of 1.000 or greater, with Xchanging on Xcelllence taking second place. HSBC Insurance Brokers (Blue Bat) were pushed hard all day by Ace European but ended the day as strong winners of the Open Division for yachts with IRC <1.000 and the Open Division as a whole. As the dominant performers across all divisions, Ince & Co also took the overall Silver Galleon trophy. Alex Macinnes, crew member and Ince organiser, commented that he was “delighted that Ince&Co were able to take part in the premier insurance industry sailing event, and even more delighted that Ince & Co came away as overall winners”. Fundraising activities, including an auction, raised in excess of £4,000 for the Lutine Lineslip Regatta's official charity the Jubilee Sailing Trust.
