         | MANCHES CUP 2005 - S J BERWIN & COLLAS DAY TRIUMPH 23.05.05 The major corporate and commercial law firm S J Berwin and leading Guernsey law firm Collas Day were the biggest winners at this year’s Manches Cup. Over Sixty boats and more than 600 participants from the legal world came together in blustery and challenging conditions to compete for the 15th Manches Cup. The event attracted all the leading UK law firms such as Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy, Freshfields, Linklaters and Manches, the main sponsors of the event. S J Berwin competed in the bareboat division, with Ian Insley of the firm skippering an X332. S J Berwin won the bareboat division and, as the team with the most consistent performance across all four divisions, they also claimed the Manches Cup Championship Trophy and an exclusive Corum Admiral’s Cup Marees Automatic watch.  Collas Day was the only Channel Island law firm at the event and were competing in the regatta for the first time. They claimed three trophies: The Corum Cup (Divison Two A Winners), the 40.7 Class Trophy and the Hays Legal In-House Trophy.  Louis Manches commenting on the regatta said: "Britannia make the Manches Cup bigger and better every year but still retain its character - a brilliant weekend for everyone." Britannia would like to thank all competitors and sponsors for their participation and support.
