DELL EMC Silicon Cup 2017

The DELL EMC Silicon Cup is the sailing regatta for the IT industry, welcoming hundreds of industry professionals to the Solent for the excitement of yacht racing combined with networking and team building. The event is a great way to get in front of potential new clients or partners, entertain key business contacts and strengthen working relations.

Entries are warmly welcomed from new teams and previous competitors - and absolutely no previous sailing experience is required.

Your entry includes the use of a fully equipped sailing yacht with professional crew who will quite literally show you and your team the ropes, so even novice sailors can confidently take part in the racing action!

The event is organised and hosted by the IT Regatta Committee. If you aren't ready to sign up yet, but would like to receive event updates please enter your email address below:

"A very unique and thrilling team building event, suitable for any colleague, customer or partner. Challenging, exhilarating and thoroughly enjoyable!" - Microsoft

Event Format

The regatta takes place over 7 - 8 September. After a full safety brief, you and your team (of up to 10 people) will enjoy two days of on-the-water action, learning the basics of sailing and competing in a number of short races against your industry partners and competitors.

Thursday evening's entertainment includes a delicious gala dinner and a charity auction, raising vital funds for the regatta's charity partners.

Most teams opt for a full charter package from Britannia, which includes a top of the range sailing yacht, complete with the safety equipment and wet weather gear.

A qualified professional skipper and first mate provide coaching so even complete novice sailors can take part.

Giving Something Back

One of the founding principles of the Silicon Cup is to help raise funds to support selected charities.

In 2014 we raised in excess of £60,000 and in 2015 we raised a record breaking £70,000 for charity on the night!

Read how the charities have used these donations this year to help improve the lives of children and young people.

In 2015 over £70k was raised for these good causes, setting a new event record.
