Lighting Industry Association Challenge Cup 2018

Britannia Corporate Events are delighted to host the 2018 LIA Challenge Cup, inviting members of the Lighting Industry Association to socialise, network and race against each other.

Following the success of the last three years, the emphasis is on having fun. You are invited to bring colleagues and clients to the sailing regatta. The event provides a fantastic platform to network, team build and strengthen professional relationships in an exciting and unique environment! No sailing experience is required as Britannia will provide high-quality yachts with experienced, professional crew on board.

Race Day

The regatta takes place on Thursday 24th May. The day starts with a hearty breakfast to prepare you for action, then as a team you will take part in a series of races, competing for the LIA Challenge Cup.

After all that hard work you'll return to Hamble for an evening social BBQ, entertainment and prize-giving.

Optional Training Day

For teams serious about competition and winning, why not join the optional training day the day before the main LIA Regatta?  It's a great way to develop your team racing skills, ensuring you are ready for action on race day morning!

Taking Part in 2018

Will we be racing against other teams?

Yes, but it’s fun racing and you will have experienced professional crew on board to show you the ropes and ensure you get the most out of your day.

What sort of yachts will we be using?

Britannia will provide a fleet of modern 40ft yachts, designed with corporate racing in mind.

How many people do I need to fill a team?

A skipper and mate will be provided as part of your booking, so ideally you need to bring 8 people.

What if I don’t have a full team?

If you don’t want to commit to filling a whole boat or don’t have enough people then don’t worry.  Register your interest with Lucie at the LIA as there is likely to be others like yourself that would really like to take part and there will be teams that will need to fill a few spots.  But don’t delay as we need to secure a number of boats to make the event happen and individual spaces will be limited.

This sounds great – what do I do next?

Contact Lucie Goodwin at the LIA on 01952 290905 or via email for more details on the event, pricing and how to enter your team.
