Britannia Corporate Events has been appointed by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) as the exclusive and official provider of hospitality services at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta taking place at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy in Dorset, UK, from 4th – 9th June 2012.
The 2012 Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta organised by the RYA, is a world-class regatta and the only international multi-class regatta for the Olympic and Paralympic classes staged in the UK. It is also the sixth regatta in the 2011-2012 edition of the ISAF Sailing World Cup series and is held at the same venue as the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events commencing on 29th July.
Britannia is providing a range of high quality hospitality packages both in the heart of the regatta sailing village as well as on the water. Guests will be able to enjoy a full day’s hospitality at this prestigious international event, watching the on-water action at close quarters from a range of spectator vessels, including RIBs and motor cruisers.
The best sailors in the world will be battling for supremacy at this Olympic venue next June, including Skandia Team GBR’s Ben Ainslie, Paul Goodison, Lucy and Kate Macgregor and Annie Lush, Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson plus a host of other British and international Olympic classes sailors.
Simon Boulding, Britannia’s Marketing Director, says the company is delighted to have been appointed, commenting: “As there are no hospitality packages available at the sailing venue in Weymouth during the 2012 Games, this is the only opportunity for sponsors and other organisations to watch the best sailors in the world battle it out at this World Cup regatta in the Olympic venue in 2012. We’re thrilled to be able to deliver those opportunities at such a special venue and in such a special year.”
Tim Hall, RYA Competitions Manager and Event Director for Skandia Sail for Gold 2012 added: “With such a great level of expertise and experience, having Britannia Events on board to manage and deliver the hospitality for our event is a great asset. We believe there will be a lot of interest in the exciting packages they are putting together.”
